What is an expo?

An expo (or world fair) is an international exhibition approved by the Bureau International des Expositions according to the Convention Relating to International Exhibitions. There are two types of expo: Registered Exhibitions (popularly known as World Expos) and Recognized Exhibitions (Specialized Expositions). Expo 2020 Dubai is a Registered Exhibition, which are expos held for periods of between six weeks and six months.

What is Expo 2020 Dubai?

Expo 2020 Dubai is the first officially recognized world fair to be held in the Middle East or Africa. It will open in Dubai in 2020, just prior to the commemorations marking 50 years since the founding of the U.A.E. Over 190 countries have declared their intention to set up exhibits on the 438-hectare venue grounds and attract approximately 25 million visitors.

When is the expo held?

The expo takes place from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021 (a period of 173 days).

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets will go on sale at the end of 2019 (TBC).

How can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased from the Expo 2020 Dubai website and official ticket agents.

How much do tickets cost?

A one-day ticket costs AED 120 (US$33). A three-day ticket costs AED 260 ($71). Admission is half price for students and visitors aged between six and seventeen, and free for the disabled, children five and under, and people aged 65 and over.
